Singapore #016 - Cake Spade

Popped by Cake Spade last night after our girls night out for chicken buffet at Chicken Up.

We went around 8plus but many of the cakes were already sold out.
In the end, we got the last piece of Red Velvet Cake and Brownie Bottom Cheesecake.

Red Velvet Cake (S$5.90)

The Red Velvet cake is moist inside and fluffy cream on its outside.
Brownie Bottom Cheesecake (S$6.20)
The cheesecake is rich and dense yet it is easy to swallow.

Since there were 8 of us, we went for another 2 more cakes.

Molten Cake with ice cream (S$7)
Nutella Fudge Crumble (S$4.20)
I always believe that the most simple food is the most difficult food to make it delicious. The deliciousness of the Nutella Fudge Crumble (served warm) just made us happy kids again.

Although I think coffee will compliment the cakes, we went ahead with these artfully packaged tea bottles. I tried the Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey. I couldn't taste the ginseng! In fact, I like the light, little sweetness taste of green tea and honey. I'm going to find these teas from the super marts and store them in my fridge!

Singapore #012 - Au Chocolat Bistro

We had the 'Back to school' theme to celebrate the Libras' birthdays in the Royal gang.
Karen got a good deal to book a night stay at MBS with her mum's membership.
After looking through the list of dining places in MBS, we found Au Chocolat Bistro that can fit into our theme. If you have a big group like us (we have total 9 ppl!), call them to make your reservation first. Otherwise, you might have to queue during the dinner timing.

I like this toy train that is moving around... and also the nice pictorial on the ceiling. <3

This bulldog is the iconic symbol of Au Chocolat. They even sell its plush toy here.

We were so hungry (after all the photo shots at the pool) that we ordered a lot of food.

Spicy Chicken Wings ($16) - Fried Chicken Wings with spicy buffalo sauce

Battered Calamari Rings ($14) - Served with green tartar sauce

Aglio Olio Vongole ($24) - This is one of their recommendable dish and it's also my favorite among the rest!

Three-cheese Macaroni ($24) - This is really rich, recommend for sharing only.
P.S. double check your order with the waiter. we ordered 1plate of three-cheese macaroni and they came serving us with 3 plates. they misheard 3-cheese with 3 plates. in the end they gave us the other 2 plates as complimentary but we couldn't finish them

Au Chocolat Mega Club ($25) - This was quite disappointing since supposedly to be their recommended dish. The chicken tender was not cripsy and hard

Au Chocolat Chef's Salad ($20) - I like the toasted walnuts that went well with the other ingredients like roast chicken, ham, etc. Its secret dressing sauce is also nice and refreshing.

Parma Ham Crepe ($18) - We just couldn't skip ordering the crepe since crepe is everyone's favorite!

Duck Confit ($27) - The meat is very tender and the orange sauce is superb

"Dessert is probably the most important stage of the meal"

We went over to Au Chocolat Confiserie to get the desserts.

Chocolate Orange Macaron ($7)

Pistachio Cake

Taiwan #002 - Aranzi Cafe

During my last business trip to Taiwan last month, I chanced upon this cafe in Shinkong Mitsukoshi (Taipei Nanxi), Aranzi Cafe for dessert with my colleague after our dinner at Xin Yeh.

This place is absolutely adorable, filled with lots of Aranzi characters. Like me, you may probably not know who the Aranzi characters are. But once you see them, you will know who they are. They are commonly found on the notebooks/diaries that are selling in Artbox.

The panda is definitely very familiar to most of us!

Aranzi cafe is very detailed. Even their cakes are in the shapes of the characters.

We ordered the White Rabbit Strawberry Cake (NT$180)
The top of it is made of full fresh cream and the two layers of sponge cakes sandwiching the strawberries.

I ordered a latte and my colleague had a mocha.
And wahhhhh the drinks had the characters too!
Totally adorable. We tried to drink it without ruining the shape.

Korea #007 - Twosome+ Studio

The man behind all 2ne1 hit songs like "I am the best", "I don't care", "Fire", etc. - Teddy had opened his own Twosome+ Studio cafe in HongDae.

During my last recent trip to Korea, I decided to pop by his cafe for tea break.

It's very easy to find this place as it is located on the left side of the entrance of Hongik University.

Once you walk into the cafe, you can see Teddy photos around and his merchandize like t-shirt, mugs, umbrella, USB thumbdrive, etc. for sale

I ordered Bailey Cappuccino and Chocolate eclair. Since it's a franchise of Twosome cafe, the coffee is nicely done and the eclair pastry is soft and the chocolate cream is not too sweet, just right.

I also spotted CL and Dara's signatures!

On the third floor of the cafe, there's art collection done by popular artist, Kwon Mina

Singapore #005 - Patisserie G

I used to work in Suntec City and had been passing by this cafe in Milenia Walk. But never once I have really stepped in. It's a simple deco cafe with around 4-5 tables and just selling cakes.

Since my last visit to Allegretto in Hong Kong, I had been trying to find out if there's any 3D latte art available in Singapore. I stumbled across some blogs and found out there's seems to be one cafe in Singapore that does 3D latte art!

We dropped by on a Wednesday afternoon and it was packed. Luckily, it was really nice gesture of the waiter to offer to give us a call when there were seats available. We waited around 15 mins.

In the menu, there was no mention of 3D Latte Art so we asked the waiter and he said he can try!
Well, we were already there so no harm trying ya.... ordered 3 cups of latte in order with 2 slices of cakes.

This guy trying his best to create some 3D art for our lattes...

Apparently the barista in charge of the 3D arts was on leave so the waiter wanted to practice on his skills and therefore accepted our order request and charged us at normal latte price ($5.50).
Note that they charged $10 per cup for 3D latte art.

Lemon Cheesecake ($9) - Combination of the fresh lemon taste, this is not too rich for a cheesecake. The more you eat it, the more you will love it.

G Spot ($9) - Rich chocolate with hazelnut praline. If you are a sweet tooth, you will love it!

Overall, the cakes' texture is smooth and moist. Easy to melt in your mouth and you will just can't stop after having one or two mouth!

Hong Kong #001 - 3D latte art

After photo taking with the minions at Maritime Square at Tsingyi, Lemo and I took the MTR to Kowloon to meet the J couple...

While on our way there, Hiou called to inform that they only allowed 1 cup of 3D latte for 1 table...
Our plan was to sit separate tables and act as if we do not know each other.

There was a queue when we got there... nevertheless I still managed to get my cup of 3D latte (try to come in the afternoon. it was sold out in the evening around 5 plus when J couple came during the weekend). I guess the staff was too busy to realize that we were from the same table as J couple! ^*

The 3D latte art is really pretty.... but coffee is just so-so

I will suggest you to pop by here while you are just shopping around Harbourcity and want to get a short tea break.
